*Hails Tinubu’s “Hands-On” Intervention
Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has confirmed the release of the 38 worshippers abducted last week during a Thanksgiving service at Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke-Isegun, Eruku, in Ekiti Local Government Area.
The victims, who spent five days in captivity, were freed on Sunday, according to a statement issued by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaiye.
Although details of how and where the abductees were rescued remain unclear at press time, the state government credited the breakthrough to coordinated efforts led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and multiple security agencies.
“After many days of hard work by security forces and government representatives, HE AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq (CON) is excited to announce the freedom of 38 persons who were recently abducted in an attack on Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Eruku,” the statement said.
Governor AbdulRazaq expressed profound gratitude to President Tinubu, noting that the President “personally led the efforts to free the abductees.”
According to the statement, the President cancelled his planned trip to the G20 meeting in South Africa to focus on the security breaches in Kwara and Kebbi states and ordered heightened security deployments across affected areas.
The Governor also acknowledged the contributions of the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Intelligence Agency (NIA), and the Nigeria Police Force, which recently deployed four new tactical teams to the state on presidential directive.
He further thanked security operatives, community leaders, religious bodies, and residents for their cooperation and support throughout the rescue efforts.
