Two tourists have been stabbed at the Acropolis of Athens.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 8am this morning to reports of a man with a knife who was threatening people at the ticket counter of the famous landmark in Greece.
Police found the suspect had already stabbed two American tourists, according to local reports.
One of the tourists is said to have suffered a serious injury to the leg and is being treated in the Red Cross Hospital, while the other has a knife wound to the hand.
The suspect, who according to initial indications has psychiatric problems, was immediately stopped and arrested by officers of the Athens Police Department.
He is understood to be aged in his mid to late 50s and was found near the scene of the attack with a knife in his hand.
