Jos-Bauchi-Gombe 330KV transmission line to experience power disruption – Official


   

The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) has informed stakeholders of a planned outage on the Jos–Bauchi–Gombe 330kV transmission line scheduled to commence from Saturday to  Sunday.       

According to a statement by the system operator’s management, the planned outrage is to enable it to carry out the connection of the Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) on the 330kV line.            

“During the outage period, the Bauchi, Gombe, Yola and surrounding areas are expected to experience an interruption in electricity supply at the Jos–Bauchi–Gombe 132kV transmission line will also be taken out of service to ensure a safe working environment for the maintenance activity.         

“The installation of the OPGW forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen transmission infrastructure and enhance the reliability, monitoring and communication capabilities of the national grid,” the company explained.   

NISO, in the statement noted “appreciates the understanding and cooperation of electricity market participants and electricity consumers in the affected areas, while regretting any inconvenience the temporary interruption it may cause.”
