NASENI Awards 2025: Halilu hails staff as engine of agency’s transformation


 

The Executive Vice Chairman of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, (NASENI), Khalil Suleiman Halilu, has said the transformation ongoing is driven by the agency’s dedication and innovation workforce.

Speaking recently, at the 2025 NASENI Staff Motivation and Reward Event in Abuja, he described the ceremony as a celebration of the people behind the Agency’s progress under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“Tonight is more than an award ceremony. It is a celebration of the people behind NASENI’s transformation. Behind every innovation, every partnership and every achievement are dedicated staff whose commitment has made our progress possible.”

He noted that while the event came later than scheduled, “excellence remains worthy of recognition at any time.”

The EVC further said that NASENI has been repositioned as a performance-driven institution anchored on the ‘3Cs’, namely ; creation, collaboration and commercialization .

The framework, he explained, guides the Agency’s mission to develop homegrown technologies, build strategic partnerships, and commercialize innovations that improve the lives of Nigerians.

Highlighting several milestones recorded by NASENI in recent times , Halil disclosed NASENI developed, over 44 commercially viable Made-in-Nigeria products,, including laptops, smartphones, solar irrigation pumps, and electric tricycles.

“40-hectare NASENI Solar Industrial Park under construction in Gora, Nasarawa State, projected to become Africa’s largest clean energy manufacturing hub. ₦229 million in grants awarded to female engineers through the Developing Engineering Leaders Through Her, DELT-Her, initiative.

“Over 30,000 direct and indirect jobs created through the Irrigate Nigeria Programme and Agricultural Machinery Institutes. Ongoing Zero Carbon Project and electric mobility initiatives supporting Nigeria’s transition to cleaner technologies.”

The NASENI helmsman congratulated the award recipients and commended all staff to put their hand on deck. Assuring that “every contribution matters to the Agency’s success.”

The event brought together NASENI management, staff, and stakeholders to recognize excellence and reaffirm the Agency’s commitment to science, engineering, and industrial development in Nigeria.
