The Northern Youth Association of Nigeria (NYAN) has passed a vote of confidence on the Minister of Works, Engr. David Nweze Umahi, describing him as one of the finest ministers to have overseen the ministry.
In a statement issued by its President, Comrade Godiya T. Adams Bogoro, the group commended Umahi’s leadership, transparency and commitment to accelerating infrastructure development under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
NYAN said major road projects across the country have recorded significant progress under the minister’s leadership, with improved quality standards.
According to the group, the ongoing road projects have boosted economic activities, enhanced security and improved the movement of goods and services across the country.
The association also praised Umahi for introducing reinforced concrete pavement technology on major highways, saying the innovation would ensure greater durability and value for public funds.
“His insistence on quality assurance, contractor accountability and strict adherence to project timelines has restored public confidence in government-led infrastructure delivery,” Bogoro said.
The statement added that the North has particularly benefited from the ministry’s focus on critical road networks, which it said have strengthened regional trade, agriculture and mobility.
NYAN also credited Umahi’s emphasis on economically strategic road corridors with promoting national cohesion and inclusive growth.
The group called on Nigerians and the Federal Government to continue supporting the Ministry of Works with the resources needed to sustain the current pace of infrastructure development.
