JOS — A tragic incident of jungle justice has sparked outrage across Plateau State following the brutal murder of a young model, Ibrahim Mbaye, at an off-campus student apartment behind City of David in the Ring Road area of Jos.
According to reports circulating online and verified by local security sources, Mbaye was tortured to death by his peer and associates after being accused of stealing an iPhone 16 following an overnight stay.
Sequence of the Tragic Incident
- The Allegation: Mbaye spent the night at his friend’s off-campus residence in Ring Road. The following morning, the host discovered his iPhone 16 was missing and accused Mbaye of taking it, arguing that they were the only two occupants in the room.
- Severe Physical Assault: Rather than involving law enforcement, the host and other occupants subjected Mbaye to prolonged, severe physical torture and humiliation in an attempt to extract a confession.
- Discovery & Attempted Cover-Up: After Mbaye lost consciousness, his assailants locked him in a room and summoned a nurse to evaluate his condition. Upon the nurse confirming that Mbaye had passed away, the suspects attempted to transport his body to the Emergency Unit of the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) to stage the situation as a medical emergency.
