The inaugural season of MasterChef Nigeria has reached its final stage, with contestants Fads and Favy emerging as the last two chefs in contention for the N73 million grand prizes.
Their qualification followed the elimination of fan favourite, David, in an emotional semi-final episode, ending his run in the cooking competition.
The top three contestants were challenged to recreate a signature dish prepared by Chef Eros and Chef Stone after sharing a meal with the judges.
The contestants were required to replicate the meal with precision, as only the best performers would secure a place in the grand finale.
With no immunity advantage in play, all three chefs competed under the same conditions.
Fads delivered what the judges described as the “standout performance of the day,” impressing with her technical execution, balanced flavours and presentation.
Her dish earned her the “Dish of the Day” title and the first spot in the finale.
Favy also received favourable reviews from the judges for her composure and the quality of her meal, securing the second finalist position.
David, however, failed to meet the required standard after his risotto and duck dish fell short in texture and flavour, leading to his elimination from the competition.
Despite missing out on the final, the judges rewarded his performance by offering him a fully sponsored six-month professional culinary training programme at Chef Stone’s Red Dish Culinary School, followed by a paid six-month internship at Chef Eros’ Ile Eros restaurant.
Fads and Favy will now face off in the grand finale for the prize.
