Big Brother Naija Season 11 housemate Temi Nkem has become one of the first contestants to trend on social media, after an exchange with fellow housemates during the reading of Big Brother’s weekly instructions.
The incident occurred shortly after the launch of the “Show Ya Sef” edition when Big Brother directed a housemate to visit the Diary Room, collect the week’s guidelines, and relay them to the rest of the house.
Temi Nkem, who is said to have studied in the United Kingdom, volunteered for the task and began reading the instructions aloud to the other contestants.
However, several housemates repeatedly asked her to explain parts of the instructions, saying they could not clearly understand what she was saying.
As the confusion continued, the atmosphere became tense.
Clearly frustrated, Temi Nkem fired back at the housemates, saying: “Are you children that you don’t understand English? How is it possible that you don’t understand English?”

Her outburst quickly became one of the most talked-about moments of the new season, with viewers debating whether the misunderstanding stemmed from her British accent, her delivery, or the pressure of reading the instructions before the house.
The incident has since sparked mixed reactions across social media.
While some viewers defended the housemates, arguing that unfamiliar accents can make communication difficult, others sided with Temi Nkem, insisting that the instructions should have been easy to understand regardless of her pronunciation.
The exchange adds to the growing drama in the opening days of BBNaija Season 11, where 24 housemates are competing for the ₦160 million grand prize.
