The Olomu Kingdom has declared an uncompromising war against cultism and drug abuse following the tragic killing of 31-year-old man, Lucky Omole at Ovwodokpokpor-Olomu in a suspected cult-related incident, with the traditional ruler, HRM, Albert Akpomudje, SAN, Eyavwien-Alaka I, the Ohworode of Olomu, warning that criminality will not be tolerated anywhere within the kingdom.

The monarch who is also Chairman of Body of Benchers Nigeria described the incident as a painful and avoidable tragedy that underscored the urgent need for collective action against the rising menace of cultism and illicit drug abuse among young people.
The learned King expressed deep sympathy to the bereaved family and called on security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are apprehended and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
Matching words with action, the Ohworode called an emergency meeting of all communities leadership wherein total ban on cultism and drugs was taken.
According to Olorogun Justice Abohweyere, President General of Umolo Community during the meeting, “To end cultism in the kingdom, we must tackle it from the root, drugs is the root cause, so we say no to drugs and cultism in Olomu kingdom.”
Adding his voice, Olorogun Godwin Okrokene, Otota (Spokesman) of Ophorigbala community said, “We condemn what has happened and I am of the opinion that aside announcing the ban, we should write to the police and government. Anyone who dare break this law will be comprehensively dealt with in Olomu.”
Olomu kingdom Chief Security Officer, Olorogun Jite Ojabecho on his part said, “We will carry out this order and go round the kingdom announcing the ban with police and other security agencies. We will maintain a zero tolerance for crime and ensure that those involved are brought to book.”
Taking a final decision, HRM Akpomudje said, “Olomu Kingdom would not fold its arms while criminal elements continue to endanger innocent lives and undermine the peace, unity, and development of its communities.
“The kingdom’s traditional institutions would work closely with law enforcement agencies, community leaders, youth organizations, and other stakeholders to eradicate cultism and drug-related crimes.” He stated.
According to the royal father, cultism and drug abuse have become dangerous social vices that fuel violence, armed robbery, intimidation, and the needless loss of promising young lives.
He warned that the kingdom would intensify efforts to identify criminal hideouts, expose those sponsoring cult activities, and support security agencies in bringing offenders to justice.
The Ohworode urged parents, guardians, teachers, religious leaders, and community development associations to take greater responsibility for mentoring young people, emphasizing that moral guidance and vigilance were essential in preventing youths from falling into the destructive cycle of cultism and substance abuse.
He also appealed directly to the youth of Olomu Kingdom to reject violence and criminality, reminding them that education, entrepreneurship, vocational skills, and hard work remain the surest pathways to personal success and community development.
With this declaration, His Royal Majesty, Albert Akpomudje, SAN, Eyavwien-Alaka I, the Ohworode of Olomu, has sent a clear message that the kingdom will stand united against cultism, drug abuse, and every form of criminality, while working tirelessly to preserve the peace and dignity of the land.
Following the incident which occurred on 30th June, 2026. The Head of Edariese Family, Olorogun Amrevuawho Peter Edariese petitioned the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Otu-Jeremi over the dastard act.
Edariese who is a former Chairman of the Delta State Branch of the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights, CDHR noted that until the demise the late Lucky, had hired an apartment at Ovwodokpokpor-Olomu Community where he resided.
“He was never a cultist and did not take part in the alleged cult crisis which took place on 28th June 2026 at Oviri Olomu.
“He was attacked in the main street of Ovwodokpokpor-Olomu where he lived among people and before their eyes and those of the persons who went to the hunting with him who are alive and can be reached to give their evidence as to what happened on the said 30th June 2026.” He stated in the petition.
According to Edariese,”This case is clear case of murder and a crime against the Nigerian State which calls for unbiased and thorough investigation to unravel the mysteries surrounding it to bring the perpetrators to booom to safeguard the lives of citizens.
“I trust in your abilities to order full and thorough investigations into the matter to allow the course of justice to prevail and bring peace to law abiding citizens of our dear community and the country at large.” He stated.
Edariese further said, “this is not the first time such a dastard incident had taken place in Oviri-Olomu Community. They’ve done it to the Edariese Efejama family wherein Olorogun A.P. Edariese is the head of the family.
