By some miracle, all nine of the family members were able to make it out unscathed, but their home has been utterly razed to the ground by the ‘very intense’ flames
A family of nine have all managed to make it out after an intense inferno engulfed their home, with the escape being described as nothing short of a miracle. The Australian family, with seven kids in total, all managed to escape the flames that would eventually reduce their home to the ashen bones of the initial structure. Firefighters have since confirmed the blaze was caused by an exploding e-bike that had been left charging. Residents of the quiet family-oriented neighbourhood of Hebersham reported hearing a loud bang followed by several explosions. Before eyewitnesses knew it, the house was up in flames in horror scenes out of western Sydney.
Incredible footage captured the blaze tearing through the home as all nine members of the family dashed to safety, somehow completely unscathed, if a bit shocked and shaken. Fire and Rescue NSW Acting Superintendent Peter Murray describe it as “a very intense fire”. “There were flames coming out of the roof, the window and sides of the house,” he told local broadcaster 9News. A family member also told Nine: “It was completely ablaze… I think we were all pretty lucky that nobody was hurt… lucky to get all the kids out.”
A GoFundMe has since been set up by a family friend and has been shared throughout the local community. The neighbourhood’s local rugby club has also begun accepting donations of clothes and food for the local family who escaped with naught but the clothes on their backs.
