Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has shared her frustration after mistakenly transferring N100,000 to the wrong bank account while trying to pay for a hair appointment.
In a video posted online, the actress explained that after getting her hair done, she asked for the salon’s account number. According to her, the account details were displayed on the wall, but she accidentally entered one incorrect digit, causing the money to be sent to a different account.
“I sent money to a wrong account. I went to get my hair done, and after getting my hair done, I asked the stylist’s assistant to call out the account number. She pointed out the account number on the wall. Honestly, the number I saw there is what I typed, but I mistakenly typed one wrong number, and the money went to a different account.
I am in pain. The mistake I made was that I didn’t check the name that popped out”.
The actress admitted that failing to verify the account name before authorizing the transfer was her biggest mistake. Her experience has since sparked conversations online about the importance of confirming beneficiary details before completing bank transactions.
Sarah Martins recently made headlines after speaking out about the increasing number of people sending her messages requesting financial assistance. She warned those flooding her inbox with begging messages to stop.
