A woman identified as Janet has shared the painful circumstances that led to the collapse of her marriage, claiming her former husband divorced her after she was sexually assaulted during a violent armed robbery.

She recalled that a group of armed robbers stormed the residence in the middle of the night, stealing valuables before one of the attackers allegedly assaulted her while her husband was restrained and unable to intervene.
Janet explained that despite pleading with the attacker to stop, her body’s involuntary physical reactions during the assault became the source of conflict in her marriage.
She said her husband interpreted her cries and reactions as signs that she had willingly participated in the act, an accusation she has consistently denied.
She revealed that after the robbers fled, her husband allegedly confronted and physically assaulted her, accusing her of infidelity despite the attack occurring against her will.
Janet said she later required medical treatment following both the assault and the injuries she sustained afterward.
According to her account, the situation worsened after she was discharged from the hospital.
She claimed she found divorce papers waiting for her and that her husband’s decision remained unchanged despite repeated pleas from her and members of both families to reconsider.
Janet said the separation eventually escalated into a legal dispute after she decided to challenge the circumstances surrounding the divorce.
She maintains that she was a victim of a violent crime and believes she should not have been blamed or abandoned because of involuntary physical responses that can occur during sexual assault.
Medical experts have previously explained that a survivor’s body may respond physically during an assault through automatic biological processes that do not indicate consent, enjoyment, or willingness.
They stress that such reactions are beyond a victim’s control and should never be interpreted as evidence of participation.
