A model has been found dead, floating down a river following a night out.
Sukanya Thawichokkamthon, 30, was reportedly discovered by a fisherman, with her body lodged on a raft on the River Kwai in Thailand. An investigation has now been launched.
Officers who attended the scene said there were no visible signs of assault on the victim – while a small packet of white powder was reportedly found in her clothes. The mother’s body was discovered on July 22.
Sukanya had taken a ride-hailing car to the Somdet Phra Sangharaja Yannasangwon Bridge. The driver told authorities that the model seemed to be searching for someone or something after being dropped off late at night.
She left the vehicle in Kanchanaburi, Thailand – and she was not seen after that until her body was discovered.
DNA tests confirmed the identity of the victim after her sister came forward to help the police.
Sunkanya’s family have expressed strong doubts that she would take her own life.
The model was described as a devoted mother to her son by her loved ones.
Investigators are awaiting a full post-mortem result while CCTV footage in the area is being analysed.
The authorities are also searching for her missing bag and mobile phone.
The model boasted more than 24,000 followers on social media.
