Prioritise citizen-centred service delivery, SERVICOM tells MDAs

The SERVICOM Office of the Presidency has  called on Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to place Nigerians at the centre of public service delivery as it opened its Second Quarter Charter Performance Report.

Speaking in Abuja, at the meeting, the Acting National Coordinator SERVICOM Presidency Mrs Helen Lawal, said the quarterly engagement has become a key platform for promoting accountability, transparency and continuous improvement across government institutions.

“It is my pleasure to warmly welcome you all to the Second Quarter Charter Performance Reporting Breakfast Meeting. Beyond being a reporting exercise, it provides an opportunity for us to reflect on our performance, share experiences, identify challenges, showcase innovative practices and collectively develop practical solutions that will enhance service delivery.”

The Acting National Coordinator noted that this quarter’s review will focus on four critical result areas: Work Plan Implementation, Charter Performance, Customer Satisfaction Survey, and Complaint Handling.

According to her, the four areas are not mere reporting requirements but key performance indicators that measure how well institutions are fulfilling service commitments to citizens.

“The Service Charter remains our public promise to citizens, while customer satisfaction surveys and complaint handling mechanisms provide the feedback necessary for measuring performance and driving continuous improvement.

She stressed that Nigerians expect public services that are timely, accessible, transparent, courteous and efficient, and urged Nodal Officers and SERVICOM Unit staff to approach presentations with sincerity and openness.
