For 12 years, Peris Njeri has lived behind the walls of Lang’ata Women’s Prison, serving a life sentence that she says stems not from personal intent to kill, but from what she describes as misplaced loyalty to a close friend whose request spiralled into a tragic and irreversible crime.
Njeri, who was once a successful businesswoman and the main provider for her family, was convicted in 2009 after agreeing to assist her friend in a plot to eliminate a woman involved in an affair with her friend’s husband. Watch D Video Here ➤
