Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, and the national leadership of the Accord Party have thrown their support behind President Bola Tinubu’s potential re-election bid in 2027.
The decision was reached during a meeting held on Saturday night in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, where the governor and top officials of the party deliberated on key political and developmental issues affecting the party and the country.
According to the party’s leadership, backing President Tinubu is aimed at ensuring continuity of major infrastructure projects currently being executed by the Federal Government.
The leaders noted that ongoing projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, require sustained leadership to guarantee their successful completion.
They maintained that allowing the current administration to complete these strategic road projects would promote national development and improve connectivity across the country.
Discussions about the August governorship election were also held with the party’s leadership warning against violence, intimidation, electoral manipulation and the use of security forces against members of Accord Party in Osun State.
Members of the party’s national leadership present at the meeting include the National Chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem; Deputy National Chairman, Maryam Sale; the National Secretary, Ajaja Abiola Adebukola; National Treasurer, Abdulazeez Oyeniyi Salaudeen; National Organising Secretary, Ibe Thankgod; National Publicity Secretary, Omorogbe Joseph; among others.
Also in attendance were the party’s state chairmen from all over the country.
