First HoldCo Plc has crossed the N5 trillion market capitalisation threshold during midday trading on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), reinforcing its position as Nigeria’s most valuable listed banking institution as investors continued to reward the financial services giant for its impressive half-year financial performance.
The company’s shares traded between N112 and N113 during intraday trading on Wednesday, July 22, extending the strong rally that began after the release of its half-year (H1) 2026 financial results.
The stock had closed at N105.00 per share on Tuesday before climbing further in Wednesday’s session.
The surge lifted First HoldCo’s market valuation above N5 trillion, marking another significant milestone for the financial conglomerate and further widening its lead over its closest banking rivals on the NGX.
The sustained buying interest reflects growing investor confidence in the company’s earnings outlook, operational efficiency and long-term growth prospects.
Investor appetite for the stock was largely fuelled by the group’s outstanding financial performance for the first six months of 2026.
According to its unaudited half year financial statements, First HoldCo reported a gross earnings of N1.93 trillion, representing a significant increase from the corresponding period last year.
